The newest member of the STAR family is Skip Mahaffey. Skip comes to STAR after a successful run as one half of “The Skip and Amy Show” the most listened-to morning show in Christian radio heard by over eighteen million listeners weekly over five hundred stations nationwide. Before coming to Contemporary Christian Music, Skip spent most of his career in Country radio. Considered one of Country’s most well-known personalities, Skip spent over thirty years waking up Dallas, Tampa, San Diego, Los Angeles, Columbus and more. Skip was the first to be honored as “Air Personality of the Year” three times by the Country Music Association and named Air Personality of the Year by Billboard Magazine.

Skip is probably better known for his dedication to serving his community. His mantra of “dogs, kids and those who serve” is reflected in his work with countless organizations including the Wounded Warrior Project, The SPCA and the FBI. “Skip’s Kids” an organization he helped establish, sends hundreds of kids on adventures of all kinds.

Skip loves movies, traveling, is a massive Cincinnati Bengals fan and has an unhealthy obsession with baseball, specifically his beloved CALIFORNIA Angels. Skip has three adult children and lives with his wife of over forty years and two cats that are quietly planning his demise.
