Afternoons with Chad

For Chad, being a radio DJ isn’t a job. Getting to be the “ringmaster” of the STAR community, where people are passionate about Jesus and music is the most satisfying thing he can image. It’s about making people laugh, having a good time, and sharing the “Best News Ever”.

At age 16, he got a taste for radio when he and his basketball team got to be interviewed on the air after a big win. He loved it so much that he got his first job working at that station shortly afterwards! Radio is still a joy 35 years later.

He’s been happily married to his wife, Stefani, since 2002, and they have one daughter named Georgia. Distance running used to be his passion (3x national champion in college!), but lately he enjoys playing pickleball competitively.

One of his favorite on-air moments happened when he found out mid-call that the listener he was talking to during a “Fast Friends” segment wasn’t local at all, but actually listening to STAR on the app in Hawaii!
