Stop Worrying & Start Trusting God

When I’m in the middle of chaos, it’s so easy for me to jump on the downward spiral and get swept away. I’ll be halfway down in the pit before I realize I’ve completely lost my peace. I’m working on that.

You know we’re moving into our first house, and it’s been… interesting.

I am a planner.

I’m super organized.

I have things mapped out.

So, when things don’t go the way I expect and plan, first, I’m completely confused, and then I’m stressed. And I hop on the Anxiety Express and head straight to Overwhelmed City.

But did you know God literally says, “Be anxious for nothing?” It’s plain and simple! And it’s right there in Philippians 4:6-7. In fact, God lays out a fool-proof plan for us to get out of these spirals. First, it says, “Be anxious for nothing,” so that’s step one. Then it says, “but in everything by PRAYER and ASKING with THANKSGIVING make your requests known to God.” So first, don’t worry. Second, ask God for help and thank Him for all the times He has helped you in the past, and for all the help he will continue to give you.

Lastly, it says, “and the PEACE of God which surpasses all understanding will GUARD your HEART and MIND in Jesus.” So, once we decide not to be anxious, once we ask God for help, He gives us His perfect peace, and we can make it through the chaos.

It’s laid out right there for us, and my goal is to do a better job of going to God first and not even buying a ticket for the Anxiety Express. So, let’s hit that goal together.

Your words of encouragement blessed me. Right now I am going through what you talked about. I need to use the scriptures to combat fear, anxiety and worry.

Hold on to Gods unchanging hands. Meditate on Phillippans 4:6-7
      God bless

Hi Kristen, it is so true! We know this, yet we keep falling into this pit. I think part of it is our forgetfulness. And our blindness. We are blind to the numerous miracles God sends our way. We scientifically and rationally explain them away. Then the ones we do recognize, we so quickly forget.
Congratulations on your new home. I heard you asking advice. Your discussion points are creative! Keep up the good work.
With my home I learned more about the areas where we had problems – water in the basement, watery yard, insulating a garage, creatng a garden, etc. So don’t be afraid of problems. They are good teachers. That would be my advice.

I am exactly like you Kristen, I hate chaos and disorder, but having been a flight attendant for many years I had to deal with it. And being a homeowner certainly has its share of headaches and problems. I constantly remind myself “God’s got this, no need to worry, he knows your worries and needs before you even ask him” (sometimes I feel like a real pest! LOL But I never forget to thank him, always and every day.

Such a blessing to receive confirmation from God that what you’re hearing is actually from Him. Thanks for this!

As I finished reading this I know I need to bookmark and underline this passage of Scripture. I made an appointment for my son’s (13 yrs old tomorrow!) back surgery. I will be needing this passage before, during, and after the surgery. Thank you.

I was reminded of God’s faithfulness to his children by my 9 year old grand daughter. I had surgery on my eyes 1 year ago and I still need to put drops in my eyes .Sometimes when I eat, my food seem to be stock in my throat I have spoken to the doctors I am also so ask to return to the doctor time and time again no change. My grand daughter and I pray together daily. 2 weeks ago after praying to God again and again. We got up off our knees. Her words. (Grandma I want you to stop praying about this, I need you to have faith and believe you will be healed, Ok. I felt a peace came over me once she spoke.
