As my wife and I witness our 17-year-old daughter growing up more and more each day, we very often feel helpless when it comes to guiding her.
Parenting is a beautiful and rewarding journey, but it can also be one of the most challenging experiences we face in life. I’ve had countless conversations on this subject with STAR family members. As Christian parents, we are called to raise our children in the ways of the Lord, but this can be difficult when we face all the struggles and obstacles along the way.
I firmly believe in the process and wouldn’t change a thing. We would love to have all the answers as we help our kids face difficult decisions, navigate social media struggles and simply protect them from the world’s evils. But we must remember that “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
As we navigate the struggles of Christian parenting, we can find encouragement in the truth that even if we were perfect parents, our children would still sin. Let us not exchange the truth for a lie, but instead, let us stand firm in our faith and trust in God’s plan for our families. May we lean on God’s wisdom and guidance as we raise our children, and may we trust in His unfailing love and grace to carry us through the challenges we face.

This time is very hard because our enemies is the social media. I raise my daughter in church and it was hard, but she had God in her heart very beautiful, until reach High school, she was in sport since 5 years old until high school, as parent sacrificed to take her to practice, games and other activities, beside to be a mom I think I’m still her best friend, advisor, father and a little of everything. She is in college but I haven’t letting her go completely. I keep checking on her and remind her God always is there don’t let him go. As single mom of one child I had my challenge, but God has been with me holding me and watching her daughter.
We have to keep God with us.
Zoroya! I couldn’t agree with you more. So well said! God IS always there! Don’t let him go…

I am really struggling now a parents worse nightmare we lost our son Nicholas I am struggling with gods will right now and this sadness is excruciating I feel like I will never be truly happy again
I’m definitely not an expert and can’t imagine what you’re going through. Losing a child is an incredibly difficult experience, but with Jesus it is possible to find happiness again. Have you thought about expressing your grief through journaling? Maybe seek out a grief counselor or a therapist? I’ll keep you in my prayers, Lori!
True success to me is contentment where you are. Success is no longer in need of the unending chase of life and finding your one lane of pleasure and enjoyment, while still serving the Lord. Success is knowing you give your best everyday, loving without judgment and being rewarded with the true “Joy of The Lord Is Your Strength. Success is eventually finding much laughter in a world of total Chaos. Ooowah!! It may have taken me 50 years but to God Be All The Glory, I’ve experienced what I just shared. Peace and Blessings Star Family and listeners. Parents you are the best!!!
Barbara,
Thanks so much for all the support and for being so uplifting!
