One day I woke up, made my coffee, sat down with a devotional book and my furbabies, and as I was just about to get settled to spend some time with God, all of a sudden, all my insecurities and past mistakes came flowing ( I should say flooding) into my mind. Anything that I have dealt with and made peace with from a certain point in my life, all came rushing back.
Whaaaat? Why is this all of a sudden happening?
Has this ever happened to you?
Here they come! Those lies that make you feel like you are not going to make it, you are going to lose everything you have worked hard for and love, and those mistakes you made in the past, ooo they are gonna take away all you have worked for today, you are worthless.. nice try!
The keyword here.. is LIES! That is exactly what they are! Stupid lies that the enemy tries to tell you to stop you in your tracks and keep you down.
So what I did; I took a deep breath and I prayed. My mentor taught me this. Take a deep breath, and talk to God. I asked Him, “why are these past mistakes and insecurities coming back to my mind God? Is this who I really am? Help me to conquer them, I need your help because I can’t do this by myself.” Then I took another deep breath and took all those lies, put them in a box and I gave them to God. He took them from me and reminded me who I am in Him and for Him.
I wanted to encourage you with what He reminded me:
He has already forgotten our past mistakes and mess ups (Hebrews 10:14) (Psalm 103:12) If God has already forgotten them, then you can trust that they will not keep you from having the life HE intends for you. He has a plan for you ( Jeremiah 29:11) and when you gave your heart to Jesus, you became a new person, the old life is gone (2 Corinthians 5:17)! God’s love and word is forever and solid! (Psalm 119: 89-96) Every day His mercies are new! Whenever you have worries and fears, give them to God, He will take care of them and YOU! ( Matthew 11:28-30, 1 Peter 5:7) Life is not alwasy easy, and to be secure in God’s ultimate protection for you ,His awesome Child of God, is not always easy to grasp, but He wants to show you who He is, He wants you to live in the confidence of knowing, NO MATTER what your past or your mistakes look like.. He is right here with you, right by your side, giving you peace and buckets of love! You are important to Him and He has important plans for YOU! (Ephesians 2:10)
