Really Big Love

Father’s Day is this weekend and for me, it’s a super easy holiday. My dad is an awesome dad and I still get to spend lots of time with him. I know I’m blessed to have a dad who is a tangible representation of our Heavenly Father’s love for us, because I know that isn’t the case for a lot of people. And maybe this is a super hard weekend for you.

It might be because you didn’t have a dad at all, or maybe you had an unloving one, or maybe you just miss yours so much. Whether or not your earthly father measured up, you have a Father in Heaven who loves you immeasurably. I’m always thinking about that scripture in Romans 5 that says, “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

That’s big love. You have a PERFECT Father in Heaven. He doesn’t make mistakes, He will never let you down, His love is unconditional, He doesn’t need anything from you and every plan He has for you is good! So whether you’re feeling celebratory or sorrowful, take some time this week to thank your unchanging Father in Heaven for all the beautiful gifts He’s given you.

ROMANS 5:7-8 “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
