“No one listens to me”
I’ve said this over and over and over again for years. And if you look at the “facts,” the “stats” it really seems like no one listens to me. I didn’t understand why. I had good ideas, I had sound advice, I’m well thought out… why doesn’t anyone listen to me?! What a frustrating feeling!
A few months ago, I posted a video trying to get my dogs’ attention and I said, “no one listens to me” jokingly. But my best friend caught a deeper root in that video. She said “Kristen, I don’t think you realize it but you’re speaking life into that lie when you say it. You’re agreeing with the lie the enemy is telling you.” That was eye opening to me! The devil has lied to me for years about that and I started seeing it pan out.
Of course he wants a woman who speaks on Christian radio — about JESUS — to think no one is listening to her! How did it take me so long to realize I was falling right into his trap! Thank God for best friends who walk with Jesus!
Maybe you’ve felt that too. Maybe you’ve asked your husband to do something over and over and he seems to not “hear” you every time you ask. Or the kids. Or your boss. Even if you feel like no one is listening – God is always listening. He hears your cries and He hears your prayers.
“No one listens to me” is a lie. Simple as that. And there are so many scriptures that prove it! Here are just a few!
Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.”
1 John 5:14 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
Jeremiah 29:12-13 “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
