Joy

The joy of the Lord is your strength! I love that verse and I love that it says “joy” and not “happiness.” Happiness is a fleeting feeling. It’s based on circumstances, finances, friends, presents, work etc. Happiness comes and goes with the minutes on the clock. But joy… Joy is an eternal, unshakeable thing. Joy comes from the Lord.

Did you know that joy is a fruit of the spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

And since it comes right from the spirit, when we don’t feel “joyful” we can just ask God to fill us with His perfect joy. And He is so faithful to us and loves us so much, that he answers that prayer. Joy comes from knowing that we have a father in heaven who loves us unconditionally and that nothing can change that.

Here at STAR 99.1, we are so thankful that we get to remind you that you have eternal, solid joy, every day in every season. And if you forget, just turn on the station and you’ll hear it for yourself!

Here’s What To Do If You Want To Be A Better Person

It's happened to all of us. Someone did us wrong! When somebody wrongs us, either by accident or on purpose, it can be extremely hard to get over it. In fact, we may never be able to reconcile with the wrongdoer. That said, forgiveness is essential and it gives us a chance to heal and become a better person. Don't get me wrong. Forgiving doesn't mean that you're excusing what someone or a collection of people did. It especially doesn't mean that you can't still have feelings about what happened.
